Graduate School Information
The Department of Advanced Disciplinary Studies is a venue for groundbreaking and trailblazing basic research and applied research in advanced fields of science and technology. It also provides education and research guidance on research relating to such research (research on research). It is again distinctive in that in addition to offering traditional graduate school education, it offers graduate school education designed to provide further education to working professionals, too.
Through such graduate school education/research, we aim to nurture not only original-thinking, creative researchers in fields of advanced science and technology, but also forward-looking, international researchers and corporate executives with broad perspectives, as well as forward-looking, multidisciplinary policymakers. Graduates are awarded a doctorate in either science or engineering.
